Presentation of the project "Plastic Busters" in Siena
The project "Plastic Busters for a Mediterranean free from litter" is an initiative financed by GIZ (German cooperation) and led by the University of Siena, being UNEP/MAP along with MEDPOL a consortium member, among other partners. On April 15th 2016 there was the presentation of the project with different stakeholders at the University of Siena (Italy).

The Regional Action Plan on SCP for the Mediterranean is a reality now
We are excited to announce that Regional Action Plan on SCP for the Mediterranean was approved during the meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention (COP19) – UNEP/Mediterranean Action Plan that took place from 9th to 12th February 2016 in Athens, Greece.

The 19th meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention to be held in Athens
The 19th Ordinary Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention hosted by the Hellenic Government, will be held in Athens from 9 to 12 February 2016, with the participation of the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme Mr. Ibrahim Thiaw.
